Saying goodbye to my babies (silk paintings that is!)

I'm letting my babies go! Mystic Arts Gallery in Laguna Beach will be exhibiting 13 of my LuLu in Laguna original silks this summer. These are my TOP TOP favorites; paintings I've held onto since the '90's when I first painted them in Laguna Beach. I've managed to sell 1,000's of prints from them - thank you all! I also am not able to get my favorite picture frames anymore  which I lovingly handpaint to match the originals. My silk paintings are no longer babies anymore - they are teens (!) but they are finally leaving the nest and I am sad (and happy); perhaps bittersweet is the word? Mer-Friends

I love painting Mermaids, but this particular Mermaid was feeling a bit lonely so she enticed a MerCat to join her.  I painted this twosome yesterday using acrylics on pine board. Enjoy!

I will be exhibiting and selling work from my LuLu in Laguna Series; hand painted silk cards, prints and originals inspired by the mermaidalicious Laguna Beach, California where I spent 8 delightful years frolicking with mermaids, water-dogs and garden cats. I also participated in the Sawdust Art Festival, a two month art show originally started in the 1960's by Laguna Beach artists.

This series was inspired by eight years living in mermaidalicious Laguna Beach, California where I spent much time frolicking about with artsy types, red-headed mermaids, water-dogs and garden cats as well as exhibiting my art for eight years at the Sawdust Art Festival.
