Welcome to 2020 + the first Full Moon of the year. Below you will find survey results plus my first paintings of 2020 and a few from the end of 2019 inspired by intuitively chosen words from my favorite books. I'm painting bigger now (9x10") but on the same Montreal-made paper. May their colors, themes and words brighten your day and provide you with insight, good luck and messages to guide you in the coming year.

Kathy Crabbe has been an artist forever and a soul reader since awakening her intuitive gifts at age forty after five years painting with her non dominant left hand. This awakened her intuition in a big way. In 2008 she created a Lefty Oracle deck and started giving intuitive soul readings. Faerieality

I am a self taught artist intuitively inspired by a shamanic exploration of seen and unseen worlds. I combine unconventional methods like non dominant hand drawing, random word collage, and dreams to help ne lose my bearing and move forward with only a glimmer of faerie dust to lead the way.

The Faerieality Series is painted with gouache and watercolor on Montreal-made paper. Each painting is inspired by an intuitively chosen section of a book that I felt had ‘faerie energy’. After the painting was done I then intuitively chose a few words to collage into the piece.

About the Originals: Each original is a gouache and mixed media painting measuring 6x6 inches (15.2x15.2 cm) and is adhered to an 8x8 inch acid free mat, ready-to-frame (frame not included).

I work within the field of Spiritual Automatism. This is a method of art-making in which the artist suppresses conscious control over the making process, allowing the unconscious mind to have great sway. Early 20th-century Dadaists, such as Hans Arp and made some use of this method through chance operations.

Forgotten Victorian artist, spiritualist and medium, Georgiana Houghton is also an inspiration.

About the Artist - Kathy Crabbe

Artist, writer, teacher and soul guide, Kathy Crabbe invokes faerie goddess spirituality to heal, make whole and holy. She is Mother of the Lefty Oracle and Elfin Ally Oracle decks. Card 1: Fairy in the Raw (Lefty Oracle)

Mantra: I am naked.
Affirmation: I am raw and beautiful in my truth.
Element: Air

If this card appears in a reading it’s time to get down to the naked truth. What do you need to face up to in your life with complete truth and honesty? Is there a part of your life or yourself that you are avoiding? It’s time to take off the rose coloured glasses and look at your life in all honesty right now. It’s not a time for judgment or righteousness, but purity, so open your eyes in faith and trust that you will be guided by truth and fairness.

In my own life, rawness and naked-ness mean simplicity and ease. I like going naked (privately) or wearing very few clothes or when I go out just dressing simply because it feels good. Likewise, so too does getting rid of excess baggage; storage items, junk etc. As I shed layers and de-clutter, both physically and spiritually, I get closer to the bone, the truth. Simplicity for me brings clarity and it frees me up to do more of what I love.

If this card appears in a reading it’s self-evident that you need to take a stand. Who or what needs the boot in your life? Bolster your strength and courage and do something about it. NOW. Reach out for support. You don’t have to do this alone. Your heart is in the right place and you WILL move forward. There is a time and a place to take action and that time has come. Don’t charge in madly until you know exactly what you need to do. Write it down or talk it over with a friend if need be. Then move forward, one spiked toe at a time and it’s done. Good work, brave soul!

In my own life I usually like to wait to take action in regards to a grievance until I feel the fire in my veins. I’ve prepared for that moment by thinking and talking it through so I’m ready with the power of emotion and intellect for when I do take action and it gets results!

Virgo Full Moon o Plenty o Cats

This Full Moon blog post is bound to come out, whether I'm ready or not! All night it wrote itself into my dreams.

As per my spiritual mentors' advice I'm continuing to ADD to my website not SUBTRACT because...ALL is Goddess.

So, that means I'm very busy adding the artwork that is by far the most loved and popular work I've ever created and that's my LuLu in Laguna series painted on silk during my 8 years in Laguna Beach, California - a paradise I found myself in during my 30's and where it all began.

During a re-birthing session during my Saturn Return (around the age of 30 when we all experience this major astrological transit/turning point) my entire business plan came to me. During that first year of business I did close to 30 art/craft shows with my handpainted silk art clothing, journals, silk earrings, prints, originals and cards. Then I got into the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach and things took off like CRAZY! I did that show for 7 years until we moved to Temecula, California where we currently live.

Below are my LuLu in Laguna CATS to start with and dogs, fairies and mermaids are being added daily.
