Feelin' that eclipse: Get involved to evolve

On June 26th a partial lunar eclipse will occur at 4 degrees Capricorn which will conjunct Pluto, activating a planetary grand cross. A shake down of our ruling power base reveals what communal commitments we actually honour. Get involved to evolve. We'Moon Excerpt

A lunar eclipse is only possible during a full moon. During a Full Moon, the Moon and Sun are on opposite sides of the Earth, and the Moon is at its brightest. A lunar eclipse is a special full moon where the Earth is in the same plane with both luminaries and the Moon is therefore shadowed by the Earth. This too, is a relatively sudden and rare phenomenon and not visible to everyone on Earth. You will feel an eclipse if it falls within 5 degrees of one of your natal planets.

Well I'm feelin' it - this lunar eclipse falls on my MC (1 degree apart) - so what does that mean? It feels like I'm fully on stage with all of you in this global, Aquarian world we live in, connected by cyber space, blogging on the airwaves and connecting body, mind, heart and soul. It feels intimate, it feels important and it feels powerful. We can make a difference, no matter how small, or how large - it's all the same - as long as we make the effort, we need to be present and to show up.

Divine Moon Muser Michéle wrote about her own experience with a lunar eclipse here (originally shared with members of our Divine Feminine Soul eCourse):

I just wanted to share another important event in my life with the Moon.

I was in my 20's and witnessed a lunar eclipse. I was at a cottage near a mountain. It was a brilliant, amazingly huge moon that rose along the side of the mountain. I could not take my eyes off her. I followed the path and ended up in a field to watch the unfolding. As the moon was nearly eclipsed, all of Nature stopped: the wind died down; no birds, insects, sounds of any kind arose. As if there was this universal expectation... The moon changed to blood red. As I sat there, mesmerized, I could taste the blood in my mouth-coursing through my veins, and the whole of being female - with monthly cycles tied to the energy of the moon. There was an awareness of the sacred and how significant that moment was. As soon as the eclipse began to wane, Nature started up again with its usual busy-ness.

The whole experience left a profound mark on my consciousness and still today I feel awe at what I had the privilege to witness.

Capricorn Moon teaches us how to accomplish and understand compassionate leadership. We may need to learn to respect other rhythms and to love ourselves for ourselves and not just for what we do. Capricorn Moon offers us constructive determination and practical support. Time for planning magic as shape ideas with form and hope allowing the wise woman within to bring a sense of ritual, organization and tradition into our lives. ~ Excerpted from the We'Moon Datebook

For my day job I teach preschool children about things like opposites. The picture for "push" and "pull" shows a girl trying to get a goat out of a barn, but the goat knows where it wants to be and how to get there. Capricorns are like that - we can be stubborn and willful, but we are also surefooted and confident. When people ask me how I got where I am in life, sometimes I just answer "I'm a Capricorn and I get what I want" no matter how long it might take me.

Some people think "Capricorn artist" is an oxymoron - we are usually driven more by the practical than the whimsical. But with Aries as my rising sign I am also full of creative energy and my hats and hair accessories reflect that. The practical Capricorn wants me to channel my creativity in an ordered and rational manner - to focus on making the same kind of hat in various sizes and colors for example. My rising Aries wants me to learn new  millinery techniques and glue feathers to everything I can get my hands on. Usually my rising sign wins.

Unlike most Capricorns, I am driven more by the whimsical in art than by the practicality of money and finances. That being said, making a business out of my creativity inspires me to sit down and make the things that I love. It is often said that Capricorns are self-conscious and uncomfortable putting their work out there for the world to see and critique and this is true, but I find that it is the same self-consciousness that spurs my goat-like perfectionism and encourages me to be the very best milliner I can be.

Summer Solstice Creative Fire

Summer Solstice (June 21) marks the peak of the solar cycle. In the midst of the longest day of the year we begin our return to the dark half of the year. The Earth is fertile, and the womb of Mother Earth grows ripe with Life. Honor and celebrate the many ways you manifest creativity in your life. How will you feed your creative fire?

This year creative fires are fueling my paintings, inspired by my highly personal, explosive, joyous and sometimes painful journeys into the intimate emotions within my own heart and shadow side.

Journaling connects me with the Moon as I track her lunar cycles in tune with the Zodiac and in concert with my Divine Feminine Moon Musing students as we share our experiences online creating a community of wise woman healers.

My soon to be released Soul Guided Package is ripe with beauty, joy, integrity and honour as I figure out the most effective way to inspire and empower your  own creative soul's journey.

What sparks are flying within your own creative soul? What are you manifesting and how are you nurturing, sustaining and protecting lives through your life's work and your activism? Where is passionate energy focused in your life? How are you a "Mother/Maker/Creatirix"?

The Age of Intuition

We are in the Age of Intuition and just for fun and in honour of the New Moon entering the sign of Gemini today and the start of my eCourse Awaken Your Divine Feminine Soul - yehhhh! I'm going to plant and tend some NEW MOON SEEDS within this blog over the next 2 weeks. Gemini does encourages communication, idea sharing and curiosity! Here is a fascinating personality test (it's a short online Facebook app version that allows you to post the results to your Facebook page) based upon the Kiersey Temperament Sorter (otherwise known as the Myers Briggs) to help you find out lots of cool stuff like how intuitive you are (Type I), whether you're a procrastinator type (a type P) and lots of other cool stuff (the full length test can be found in the book "Please Understand Me.")

The Temperament Sorter is useful for career counselling and in the work place because it really does help you understand how and why others are so different from you and how to get along with all types.

On our first road trip together, which by the way is the ultimate test of compatibility, my husband and I (before we were married) took the test and quickly discovered where our major differences lay - he's quite the P and I'm a super J! The first time I met my mother-in-law, a primary school teacher, she whipped out the test and quickly pegged me as one of the dreaded 'them' - an ENTJ (although I'm more an I) as she proceeded to tell me that my type (in the classroom) was one of those annoying (but rare) students who questioned just about everything!

So, as you can see this test has some helpful qualities and some rather limiting aspects. Of course we are much more than a series of letters on a scale and who really wants to be sorted, pegged and classified anyway?

Some other fascinating psychological profilers are:

The Enneagram (very deep and with a spiritual bent.)

The Clifton Strengthsfinder (helped change my life but you have to buy the book to do the test.)

Astrology (the most complex of all!)

Tios Tacos

Folk Art in Riverside, California at Tios Tacos - created entirely by the owner and similar to the Watts Towers in Los Angeles. I wanted to order nopales (cactus juice) at the Juice Bar but they were fresh out. Darn.

The Chapel - folks get married here too.

This caged creation is stuffed with junk and bottles. I first heard about this restaurant from artist Richard White.

Richard White - from the show "Gone Goslin" - Quad Gallery, RCC.
