Museletter: Full Moon in Cancer - Opening to Inner Wisdom

Full Moon in Cancer - Opening to Inner Wisdomby Guest Astrologer, Emily Trinkaus

The Full Moon on January 19th (1:21pm PST) animates the watery, feminine, sensitive sign of Cancer, stirring up strong feelings and intuitive insights. Cancer the Crab rules the inner realm of home, family and deep emotions, and this lunation highlights what you need to feel nurtured, supported and secure.

At the Solar Eclipse on January 4th -- a super-potent New Moon -- ambitious new beginnings were set into motion. In earthy, pragmatic Capricorn, the Eclipse focused intentions on professional goals, long-term commitments, material success, and taking on greater power and authority. The Eclipse ideally served as a catalyst to activate your higher purpose, your true work in the world, and to inspire concrete steps to bring your vision into reality.

Now, the Cancer Full Moon asks: Is your outer-world mission aligned with your feelings and intuition? To effectively pursue worldly ambitions and fulfill your purpose, what kind of foundation, container, support system do you need? How can you create a balance between nurturing your personal life and achieving your goals?

Magnifying the power of this lunation, the Full Moon forms a harmonious trine (120-degree angle) with the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces. Uranus is the Great Awakener, the principle of revolution and liberation, while Jupiter expands what he touches. This aspect opens the potential for flashes of intuitive awareness, magical synchronicities, and freedom from old emotional patterns and programs.

The shadow expression of all this watery energy is emotional overwhelm, leading to depression, crankiness, and the desire to escape into your favorite addictions.

Cultivate the higher expression of this Full Moon by calling in and honoring your favorite goddess; nurturing yourself and loved ones; nesting and devoting yourself to home-improvement projects; taking a long bath or otherwise communing with the water element; and, most importantly, taking time to simply feel your feelings.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Gemini: Releasing the Undesirable Story

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Geminiby Guest Astrologer, Emily Trinkaus

The Full Moon on December 21st is a super-potent, highly charged, cosmic opportunity to make a significant shift. The power of this lunation is amplified by two factors -- it's a Lunar Eclipse, and it coincides with the Winter Solstice.

At a Lunar Eclipse -- when the Earth's shadow blocks out the light of the Moon -- events from the past reach a point of culmination, fruition and completion. Feelings that have been repressed erupt into awareness, inspiring breakthroughs and revelations. The energy is intensely emotional, and potentially volatile.

In Gemini, this Eclipse activates themes related to siblings, neighbors, learning, writing, speaking, teaching and everyday communications and connections. Mental activity -- including anxiety and worry -- is likely to be heightened. The potential is to awaken to and release any thinking patterns, beliefs or perceptions that are keeping you from stepping into your true power.

The opposition between the Gemini Moon and Sagittarius Sun asks: Do your everyday interactions and activities reflect your integrity and higher vision? Can you connect with others while maintaining connection with your inner wisdom? Are you overly attached to your version of "truth," or overly adaptable to others' ideas and opinions?

The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, when the darkness reaches its height of power. Traditionally, Solstice is a magical and mystical holy day, a time to release the past, rekindle your inner light, and plant a new vision for the coming year.

The concurrence of the Lunar Eclipse and Winter Solstice deepens the seasonal and metaphorical darkness, presenting a powerful opening to die to what no longer serves you. On January 4th, a New Moon Solar Eclipse will launch a powerful new beginning. In order to make the most of that initiation, what do you need to release? What is the old story that keeps you from living your highest purpose?

Taurus Full Moon November 21, 2010 9:27 am pst

The Taurus Full Moon on November 21st awakens the five senses, reconnects us with our animal selves, reminds us of the magic of the natural world. The Moon is considered "exalted" -- at her strongest -- in the earthy, luscious, sensual sign of the Bull. Amping up the power, this Full Moon activates the very last degree of Taurus, implying major completions and culminations.

The Sun in Scorpio, since October 23rd, shines the light on what's hidden beneath the surface, stirs up intense emotions, and animates our relationship with the invisible realm. Scorpio rules all things mysterious, secret and taboo. The purpose of Scorpio's Underworld journey is to strip away what's become stagnant or diseased, reconnect us with our priorities and mission, and regenerate passion for what really matters.

While Scorpio embraces core-level transformation, Taurus seeks comfort, stability and abundance. When this polarity is in balance, we let go of what we've outgrown to make space for what we really want, and we have the support and resources we need to pursue our passions. We appreciate and celebrate the simple pleasures of ordinary life, without ignoring or repressing the deeper and darker layers of reality.

Because Taurus is a "fixed" sign, this is an ideal Full Moon for letting go of literal and metaphorical "stuff." Whatever you release -- a habit, belief, emotional attachment... -- is likely to stay away for good. What are you holding onto that's blocking the flow of your natural abundance?

Honor the Taurus Full Moon by spending time in nature, pampering your body with a massage or long bath, savoring a delicious meal, communing with your companion animals and/or house plants. Drum, sing or dance, sculpt with clay, put your garden to bed. Connect with the Fairies, Devas, Plant Spirits and Animal Spirits. Ask how you can best use your natural talents and resources to serve our home planet in these critical times.

Aries Full Moon: Uncovering Your Vibrant Self by Emily Trinkaus

Friday's Full Moon is a rare, Blue Moon event -- a second consecutive Full Moon in fiery, passionate Aries. Think back to what was happening around September 23rd, at the first Aries Full Moon. This year we're gifted with two opportunities to get the lessons of the Aries/Libra polarity -- the balance of masculine and feminine, independence and relationship, feisty initiation and measured reflection.

Each Full Moon is a time of illumination, revelation, culmination and fruition. The Full Moon in Aries asks: What do you really want? What excites and inspires you? Are you in touch with your instincts, drive and vital life force? Have you sacrificed your authenticity, your passion, your true desires to please your partner, family, society? Are you giving more than you're receiving?

This Full Moon is at the very last degree of Aries, highlighting endings and completions related to Aries themes: an aspect of your identity you've outgrown, a way of taking action or relating that's not serving you, a past pursuit or passion that no longer excites you.

The two-week period following the Full Moon, while the Moon is waning, is an ideal time for letting go of the old and clearing space for the new. Clean out the dusty corners of your home and psyche, get rid of possessions that are holding stagnant energy, write or sing or paint or dance your feelings and uncover a more vibrant version of your self.

On Saturday, the Sun will shift into Scorpio, joining Mercury, Venus and Mars in the sign of magic, transformation and regeneration. While access to invisible power is strong, take advantage of this Full Moon opportunity to perform a simple ritual. Aries likes it fast and fiery: light a candle, write down what you're ready to release, burn the paper, and do a little dance -- or just jump around and shake off the old. The Full Moon will be exact on Friday at 6:36pm Pacific Time, but the energy is powerful all Friday and Saturday.
