Fairies and Angels Magazine has just published some of my Mermaid paintings so I'd like to tell you a bit more about them.
The Mermaid Series was originally painted on pure white silk. I was inspired by living in Laguna Beach, California for 8 years where I befriended a red-haired mermaid and a raven-haired mermaid. Painting on silk was a natural fit for this series because of the watery, delicious, flowing feel achieved by using silk dyes and gutta resist on silk.
