Medusa: Sense the Enchantment Original Painting
“Medusa: Sense the Enchantment” is an original gouache painting 8 3/8 x 11 5/8 inches (22.86 x 30.48 cm) created on heavy watercolor paper (Moleskine), ready-to-frame (frame not included). It was inspired by my spirit guides and a quotation from the book titled “The Re-Enchantment of Everyday Life” by Thomas Moore. Here is the quotation that inspired the piece: "And so it may be good if we choose to walk to a place rather than drive; to go by ship rather than air; to drive indirectly rather than by the shortest route; to dally rather than rush; to experience foreigners, whether the inhabitants of another country or simply of another suburb; to eat their food and not our own; and, above all, to allow other places to be themselves and not to impose our own values and manners on them. In our economic efforts to Westernize the globe, we are diminishing our own resources for enchantment, and I fear that in the future, wherever we go, we will find only ourselves."

Each Faerieality painting was inspired by an intuitively chosen quotation from a book that I felt had ‘faerie energy’. I also intuitively chose a few words from the same book to collage into each piece which then became the painting’s title. The Faerieality Oracle Deck may also include this image.
