“I felt them in my heart, playful and light. They open you up; like letting a crack of light in.”
“You are such an inspiration. I love your smile, your creativity, and how you have kept your inner children alive and flourishing! I found my chalks last night. I found my big sketch pad that I haven’t touched in decades. I do not know what will come out but I am letting the colors flow.”

End of an Era: Saying Goodbye to My LuLu in Laguna Silk Art – 70% Off all LuLu in Laguna Silk art - The beauty of letting go
It’s the end of an era! I’m releasing all my LuLu in Laguna silk art originals and prints in a massive 70% off sale as I say goodbye to this beautiful chapter of my artist’s journey. Created during my Laguna Beach years (1992–2000), these vibrant silk pieces were born during my first Saturn Return when I discovered my true calling as an artist. Now, at 60 and entering my second Saturn Return, it’s time to lighten the load, make space for new creations, and share the magic of LuLu one last time. Every purchase includes a free print, and remaining works will be donated to ocean, fresh water and pet rescue foundations. Thank you for 30 years of love and support—here’s to the next adventure.
This was my vision of life in my 30s: Laguna Beach, painting silk, playing with mermaids in the sea, surrounded by pet loves and my lover, living in paradise, making art and making a living from it—what a blessing! And now it’s time to let that go. I feel lighter already.
I became an artist after moving to California at age 25, after meeting my husband-to-be in Kingston, Canada. He was sailing in the Olympic Trials (CORK), and I just knew I was going to meet him that night! He was the one who convinced me I could actually be an artist and make a living at it—and so I did and it turned out Laguna Beach was the perfect place to be.
I had a huge breakthrough during my first Saturn Return, around age 30, when we all experience that major, life-changing astrological transit. I experienced a rebirthing session, and my entire business plan for LuLu Design came to me. I began silk painting because I absolutely fell in LOVE with the colors and the intensity of the dyes on silk. I started selling my work at art and craft fairs, then to galleries and shops. That’s when my LuLu in Laguna series was born, along with my years of participation in the two-month-long Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach.
Well, now it’s 30 years later, and I’m 60, moving through my second Saturn Return. It’s time to lighten the load as I prepare for the last third of my life. I need to let go, and I need to say goodbye to LuLu as I make room for new creations and adventures—time to move on and move forward. I have lived and loved as a full-time artist my entire working career, and I thank you all for supporting this journey. I could not have done it without you.
I'm having a 70% Off Sale on all my silk art paintings and prints created during my Laguna Beach years from 1992–2000. You will also receive a free print with every purchase. Whatever is left after this sale will be offered to the shops that sell my work (and yes, they will still carry my LuLu greeting cards—those are staying!) Anything left after that will be donated to an ocean rescue foundation, FAB (Frontenac Arch Biosphere Organization), and pet rescue foundations.
